Board meeting Review: June 3

The Board of Trustees meets tonight. Some of the meeting’s topics include:
* Monta Loma field update
* Public hearing on Huff Elementary’s renaming
* Public hearing on the LCAP
* End of the year i-Ready assessment data
* MVWSD budget
* Construction update (lighting and restrooms)

Negotiations News

The District and MVEA (Mountain View Educators Association) have reached a comprehensive tentative agreement that includes a 4% salary schedule increase (retroactive to July 1, 2020) as well as important changes and improvements to hours, class size and leaves. More information will be shared soon to MVEA members. The tentative agreement will be presented to MVEA members for ratification and to the Governing Board for approval.

The District and CSEA (California School Employees Association) reached a comprehensive tentative agreement on May 28. The Tentative Agreement includes a four percent (4%) salary schedule increase, effective July 1, 2020. Agreements were reached regarding Articles 8 (Retirement), 14 (Compensation), Article 15 (Professional Growth) and MOUs regarding unit modification and participation in the CSESAP. Summer meals at schools and on the move
MVWSD will again provide FREE summer meals at lunchtime all summer to children, 18 years old and younger, at Crittenden, Monta Loma and Jose Antonio Vargas. Adults and children may eat free at Rengstorff Park. Click on this link for all the details.

Almost 200 COVID vaccinations were administered on Wednesday at Crittenden’s event in collaboration with Santa Clara County and Stanford Health.

Summer District Office hours 

This summer, the District Office, 1400 Montecito Ave., is open for business Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. June 14 through July 23. Starting July 26, the District Office is open Monday through Friday.
