View and comment on MVWSD’s Local Control Accountability Plan draft

The District is finalizing its draft of the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan). This is the District’s three-year plan that will correspond with the first three years of the District’s new Strategic Plan 2027. These documents are the blueprints that guide all of the District’s work for the benefit of our students.

Stakeholders are welcome to comment on the draft LCAP plan. Please read the presentation and supporting materials at mvwsd.org/lcap, and click on the form link there to submit any comments. The comments form closes on May 26. Stakeholders may also attend the public learning during the Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, June 3 at 6 p.m. on Zoom (the link is here: http://mvw.sd/fRqB5).

High Fives

MVWSD held its 18th annual chess tournament on Sunday. Graham won the team event with 13.5 points, which is a tournament record, and had the 1st and 2nd place individual winners as well. Crittenden was second with 10 points, and Stevenson was 3rd. Easton Rodgers led the Graham team with a perfect 5-0 record, Ethan Louie finished second with 4 wins and 1 tie, and Marcus Williams tied for 3rd with 4 wins and 1 loss.

Congratulations to Zoe Minhas, a 6th grader at Crittenden and a Mistral alumna who participated in the 8th National Symposium on Spanish as a Heritage Language and won in the pre-university category. Students were encouraged by Crittenden Spanish teacher Ms. Pederson to submit their poems, stories, and essays. Zoe competed in the high school group and is the first middle school student to participate. Her winning story will be published on the Symposium's website.
